RESCUE 2010 !!!
The Surf Life Saving Campionships for 2010 have been awared to Great Britain,the campionships will be held in Newquary but the date is unknown yet.

OPEN RACE – Run to Carbis Bay & swim back – Starts 7.30pm
NOVICE RACE – Run to Porthminster Beach & swim back – Starts 7.00pm
JUNIOR RACE – Run to Porthminster Beach & swim back – Starts 6.30pm
ENTRY FEES:
OPEN RACE £12.50 or £15.00 on the day
NOVICE RACE £7.50 or £10.00 on the day
JUNIOR RACE £7.50 or £10.00 on the day
Registration will be at the fisherman’s lodge on Wharf Road, from 4.00pm to 6.30pm.
Junior registration will close at 6.00pm.

Types Of Races!
There are many types of races some of them are:
*Obstcale Race-You swim under gates in the water,the distance you swim is either 50m/100m.
*Manikin Tow-You tow a manikin down the pool but depending on what age group you are in decides on how much water is in the manikin.
*Fin Race-You swim with fins on but you still do normal front crawl, the distance you swim is normally 50m depending what age group you are in.
*Board Race-You paddle 50m down the pool.
*Board Rescue- Two people are in this race, one swims down to the end of the pool when they reach the end of the length they touch the wall and put there hand up.The other person then paddles to the end of the length, where the other person gets on to the back of the board,they then paddle back to the other end of the pool to finsh the race.

Surf Life Saving Is a sport which is enjoyed all or the world.There are chapionships,cornish competions and national competions for all the ages!
